９月１９日（金）に、水産学部（下荒田キャンパス）の鹿児島大学附属図書館水産学部分館セミナールームにて、大学院農林水産学研究科「国際連携による熱帯水産学研究科プログラム」（International Linkage Program on Tropical Fisheries、以下ILP）サマーセッションの閉講式が開催されました。今年度は、フィリピン大学ビサヤス校（フィリピン）から３名の留学生が８月下旬に来日し、ILPサマーセッションに参加、約３０日間の滞在中に英語での講義や実験科目の受講、各指導教員のもとで研究活動に取り組みました。また、鹿児島をはじめ日本の歴史や文化に触れるとともに日本人学生や職員、鹿児島市民と国際交流を行いました。
閉講式では、水産学部学部長の西教授がお祝いの挨拶と、留学生への修了証の授与を行い、教育委員長の小谷教授が閉会の挨拶を述べました。また、３名の留学生がサマーセッションで学んだことや体験したことを踏まえて、帰国後の意気込みを述べ、ILPプログラムに参加している日本人学生代表者２名による激励の挨拶を英語で述べました。ILPプログラムでは、今度は日本人学生が海外の提携大学へ留学することになっています。
The Closing Ceremony for the 2025 ILP Summer Session Held.
The closing ceremony of the Summer Session for the Graduate School of Agricultural, Forestry and Fisheries “International Linkage Program on Tropical Fisheries” (ILP) was held at the Seminar Room of the Fisheries Science Branch Library, Kagoshima University, in the Shimoarata campus on Friday, September 19. This year, three international students from the University of the Philippines Visayas (Philippines) arrived in Japan in late August to participate in the ILP Summer Session. During their approximately 30-day stay, they attended lectures and laboratory courses in English, as well as engaged in research activities under the guidance of their respective supervisors. In addition, they had the opportunity to experience Japanese history and culture, including interactions with Japanese students, staff, and local citizens in Kagoshima.
At the closing ceremony, Professor Nishi, Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries Sciences, delivered congratulatory remarks and awarded the completion certificates to the international students. Professor Kotani, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Chair of the Education Committee, then gave the closing address. Following this, the three international students shared their reflections on what they had learned and experienced during the Summer Session, and expressed their enthusiasm for their future endeavors after returning to their home country. The two Japanese student representatives participating in the ILP Program also delivered words of encouragement in English. In the next phase of the ILP program, Japanese students are scheduled to study abroad at the partner universities.
