Second Officer Atsushi TAKEDA We open the class of basic of practice embarkation for new student in April. New student was made to embark Kagoshima maru or Nansei maru. They life and communicated with university’s teacher, crew, friends only 3days. Then they can understand what is department of fisheries by watching lecture and doing practice.
This practice started when they have to get up 6:30 and do radio exercise. In the morning, we did observation of working departure from port, practiced boat station drill, driving ship, rope work. After lunch, we watched observation of CTD, observation temperature of surface sea, observation of transparency, observation of plankton, observation of bottom sea mad. They were tired for starting early time. But they smiled and sparkled eye when they felt and touched in site. In the night, finished all programs, they can have free time. The ship was anchoring 20m depth of the sea near the coast side. They can fishing good size horse mackerel. Student of first time fishing was very smiled when fishing many fish. After that, taught how do it making sashimi. I watched students. I understand what students separate groups natural, One groups only fishing, another groups only making sashimi. They have most good smile this time. |
