2000 Education and Research Center for Marine Resources and Environment was established to offer extensive facilities for education and researches in marine and fishery sciences for students and staff of the Faculty and external organizations.
1997 These eight specialized fields were reshuffled into three programs for students:
1. General Fisheries Science
2. Science and Technology for Exploitation of Fisheries Resources
3. Biological and Chemical Sciences of Fisheries Resources
1988 Establishment of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences (3-year Doctoral Program) comprising four graduate programs from four universities, Kagoshima University, Faculties of Agriculture and Fisheries, University of Miyazaki Faculty of Agriculture, Saga University, Faculty of Agriculture, and University of the Ryukyus in the United Graduate School
