Sharon Nuñal, S. N, assistant professor of University of the Philippines Visayas, received Ph.D. at United Graduate school of Agricultural Sciences KAGOSHIMA University in 2014. The award ceremony was held in 42nd annual Meeting of Society for Antibacterial and Antifungal Agents, JAPAN (SAAAJ) on 19th May at Osaka. She was the first foreigner who win the prize since meeting has established.
Her research is the application of microbial degradation to improve environment against oil pollution in tropical area. They evaluated that she revealed chemical analysis and related bacteria in genetic level during oil decomposition process and showed an application methods concretely.
